The patient participation group is a way that you, a patient, can have your say. The group means that patients are involved in decisions about the practice.
See below for our latest group meeting minutes / news.
The patient group helps to improve communication between patients and the practice. The group also helps to provide practical support and help the practice make changes.

From July 2022, our PPG had a makeover and we are rebranded it ‘Friends of Oswald Medical Centre'. We are a friendly bunch and we just want to make things better for patients.
Go on – give us a call to confirm your attendance (just because we need to know numbers) and come along to our meetings for a brew and a chat!
We need your input into how our practice runs and we’d like your help to do this! For this reason, we’d love patients to get more involved and help us out with events such as flu clinics, the children’s Christmas poster competition and more.
We will send you a pack of information to read before you join your first
meeting. Some meetings may take place virtually, but venues will be
confirmed in your invite.
Purpose of the Group
- To give patients and practice staff the opportunity to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest.
- To provide a means for patients to become more involved and make suggestions about the healthcare services they receive.
- To explore (anonymised) issues from patient complaints and patient surveys, contribute to actions plans and help monitor improvements.
- To contribute feedback to the practice on National Patient Survey results and Friends and Family Test feedback to propose developments or change.
- To support health awareness and patient education and promote responsible use of Primary Care Services.
