TREATMENT ROOM
For Accrington and Oswaldtwistle patients, the treatment room is located in the Acorn building in accrington, the same building our Accrington branch is located in. Treatments like ear syringing, dressings, suture removal etc are carried out here. Blackburn patients may find it easier to attend the treatment room at larkhill health centre or the Montague health centre in Blackburn.
The treatment room at Accrington’s Acorn Health Centre provides extra services in the community.
The facility provides wound and leg ulcer care, and blood test clinic is also run from here.
Health workers are on hand to offer the service for post-operative and post-trauma wound care at the purpose-built centre on Blackburn Road. The team will also undertake the removal of stitches and clips.
The service will be available on weekdays from 9am to 5pm, except for Wednesdays when it will be closed in the afternoons.
A variety of both walk-in and appointment sessions will be offered, as well as referrals by GPs, hospitals and other health professionals.
Traditionally, many patients have been referred to the Royal Blackburn Hospital and Accrington Victoria Community Hospital or had treatment done by a practice nurse at a GP surgery.
