Travel Clinic
Before travelling to certain countries, it is advisable to protect yourself against local prevailing infectious diseases such as hepatitis, typhoid , malaria, rabies etc Immigration at certain countries have made it mandatory that you show proof that you have been immunised against certain diseases and may ask you to produce a certificate.before entry into the country. We run a travel clinic at each of our branch sites where you can get advice on the required vaccinations and general advice on travel safety.
Travel vaccinations
If you are planning to travel abroad, you should check which vaccinations are recommended for the areas you will be visiting. You can find this information on these two websites:
- NHS Fit for Travel
- National Travel Health Network and
Centre (NaTHNaC)
The travel clinic is run by the practice nurse at the branch site. Please book your appointment well before your date of travel so that your required treatment can be administered in time.
Please note the NHS does not pay for most vaccinations and other medications required for leisure related travel and you may have to purchase them yourself.
