The role of the practice nurse has evolved over the years and they now perform highly specialised tasks which were traditionally performed by doctors.
Health Care Assistant
The Health Care assistant performs some of the routine nursing tasks such as taking blood tests, performing ecgs, blood pressure check etc. They are not fully qualified nurses but can free up a lot of the nurses time to allow them to perform more specialised nursing tasks
